Summer night in the deserted meadow. Fityirc and Valér awake insomnately at the top of the heap, for neither of them can sleep under the bright light of the full moon. According to Valér, the moon is just like a huge lamp, so there must be a switch to extinguish it, like a real lamp. He decides whether to go up to the moon and see if it really is. He remembers that Titus had a ladder, so he immediately went to get him a loan. As you climb the ladder, it turns out that the moon is still too far away. Meanwhile, Zödön comes up and offers his help.
