Judit Surányi

Judit Surányi was born and raised in Budapest. She got her first diploma in Amsterdam and the second in Budapest. Surányi is a sociologist and cultural anthropologist who uses the language of film to show social and cultural landscapes in her focus and her experiences. She believes that her characters can present their stories themselves more authentically in their reality than if they were written about. Since 2014, Surányi has been leading the Rehab Critical Mass movement, which organised the world's first all-disabled cultural parade and festival in Budapest to raise awareness about improving the quality of life for people with disabilities. Over seven years, thousands have marched in peace and joy through the streets of Budapest, united in their advocacy. Surányi has also received many awards over the years, with several different works.
