Moe Myat May Zarchi

Moe Myat May Zarchi (b. 1994) is a filmmaker, a cultural practitioner and an audiovisual artist from Myanmar with practice spanning 10 years. Her works have been accoladed by Prince Claus Seed Awards for emerging artist and her films have been screened at Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, Vienna Shorts, Uppsala Film Festival, Recontres International Paris/Berlin, Singapore International Film Festival, Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival and many more. Her latest short film “The Altar (2023)” won the ARTE award at Kurzfilm Hamburg and Best Audiovisual Short at Minikino Filmweek. Her latest working short film “Sad Diva Lands on the Moon” was granted by SGIFF short film grant and Purin Pictures. Moe also founded 3-ACT, a film community organisation, and also co-founded MATTER audio-visual lab, the first interdisciplinary and experimental arts collective in Myanmar. Moe has become a Berlinale Talent in 2024.
